The Benfica announces the transfer of forward Raúl de Tomás to Espanyol for 20 million euros
Benfica announced on Thursday the transfer of forward Raúl de Tomás to Espanyol for 20 million euros, the same amount for which they signed him from Real Madrid at the beginning of this season.
Shortly after, the Barcelona team confirmed the signing: "RCD Espanyol de Barcelona has closed the incorporation of forward Raúl de Tomás (Madrid, 10/17/1994), coming from Benfica, and signed until June 30, 2026."

According to the Spanish specialized press, De Tomás becomes the most expensive signing in the history of Espanyol, ahead of the Argentine Matías Vargas (10.5 million euros), who arrived in July.
Formed in Real Madrid, De Tomás was loaned to Córdoba (2015-2016), Valladolid (2016-2017), and Rayo Vallecano (2017-2019).
The 25-year-old player was one of the surprises of last season in Spain, but with three goals in 17 matches in all competitions since his arrival in Lisbon, he did not convince the Benfica's technical team.
🎙️ @RauldeTomas9: "I know the responsibility I am going to have in this team. I have no problem in facing it. I have a lot of confidence in my abilities. Since I talked to Espanyol, I regained the desire, the illusion". #Volem | #EspanyoldeBarcelona | #RCDE | #RDTPerico
