Preston 2 - 4 Norwich City
Norwich City faced their FA Cup match optimistically against, in theory, an inferior opponent to the squad led by Daniel Farke. The figure of Adam Idah shone brighter than the rest, as he would score a hat-trick (2', 38', and 61'), the last one from the penalty spot. Onel Hernández would also join the goal-scoring party of the Premier League team, while Preston would manage to make the scoreboard more respectable through the goals scored by Billy Bodin (48') and Josh Harrop (84').
Watford 3 - 3 Tranmere Rovers
There were lights and shadows in Watford's match against Tranmere Rovers. The team from Vicarage Road, which is recovering in the regular tournament in the top category of England, signed a sensational first half, thanks to the goals scored by Tom Dele-Bashiru (12'), Nathaniel Chalobah (14'), and Roberto Pereyra (34'). After the break, the visiting team staged one of those comebacks that will be remembered forever, on par with what Liverpool did in that unforgettable Champions League final against AC Milan (although at a different magnitude for each competition, it must be said). Connor Jennings (65'), Manny Monthe (78'), and Paul Mullin (87'), the latter from the penalty spot, would take the tie, against all odds, to a replay. Also, Pereyra was sent off by the referee.
