Despite only three months remaining until the first match of the Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the 46-year-old strategist chose not to continue leading his country's team in order to compete in the Copa Sudamericana with the Brazilian team.
Although Venezuelan media outlets have started to mention names to take on the coaching position, one of the most prominent in recent hours is Pedro Troglio. It seems that the former coach of Universitario de Deportes, currently in Olimpia of Honduras, is one of the alternatives being considered by the Venezuelan Football Federation.
Not too long ago, Pedro Troglio rejected an offer to coach Huracán due to the good moment he was experiencing in Central American lands. However, considering what it means to coach a team like the Venezuela National Team, the Argentine strategist would not be opposed to this possibility.
The Venezuela National Team will debut in the Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on March 26, against Colombia as a visitor. From there, they will face Paraguay in their first home match on March 31.
