Atletico Madrid strengthens its attacking line

The Atletico Madrid has activated the machinery to strengthen its attack. Aware of the need to find an offensive player who contributes a significant number of goals and improves the records of Alvaro Morata, who despite scoring 9 goals in 20 official matches, wastes a more than remarkable number of opportunities to score, different options have emerged.

While waiting for the return of the injured Diego Costa, the big name in this regard is the Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani, a player from Paris Saint Germain whose contract with the French team extends until June 30th. However, his departure seems complicated because the French champion does not want to close his exit and he will not force his goodbye. In this situation, and as highlighted by the newspaper As, there are five other players as alternatives.

Varios fronts open

The first one is Cedric Bakambu, a player from Beijing Gouan, who has a millionaire contract in China and would see with very good eyes the possibility of returning to our League, where he already shone with Villarreal. Valencia has also appeared as a possible destination for him. Another former player of La Liga who has appeared recently is the international Paco Alcacer, who despite his good records in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, will see his role compromised with the arrival of young Norwegian talent Erling Haaland.

Two other targets to take into account are in Italy. The first one is Kristof Piatek, a player from AC Milan for which the rossoneri paid €35M last January and has not shown his best version this season. As if this were not enough, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival at San Siro leaves him in an even more delicate situation. The second one is Dries Mertens, who despite not being a pure number 9 is an interesting option given his decision to leave Napoli, with whom he has a contract until June and would facilitate his departure in January to obtain some money in exchange for his goodbye.

Finally, there is the young Italian Patrick Cutrone (21 years old), who said goodbye to AC Milan this summer to go to the Premier League for nothing less than €18M, but he has a secondary role in Nuno's Wolverhampton. So far, he has only scored 3 goals and lives in the shadow of former Atlético player Raúl Jiménez from Mexico.
