Leonardo Jardim, Portuguese coach of Monaco, has been dismissed from his position for the second time in just over a year, and will be replaced by former Spanish national team coach Robert Moreno, as officially announced by the club of Principality.

Former coach of La Roja between June and November 2019, Robert Moreno González will live in Monaco, at 42 years old, his first experience as a head coach of a professional club.

His appointment has surprised even though the club had been working on his hiring for weeks.

The Catalan coach replaced Luis Enrique in June 2019 due to the illness of the Spanish national team coach's daughter. Last November, Luis Enrique claimed his position, which led to Moreno's departure.

Moreno had been an assistant to Luis Enrique at Roma (2011-2012), Celta de Vigo (2013-2014), FC Barcelona (2014-2017), and the Spanish national team, from July 2018 to June 2019. AFP
