With the Apertura 2019 about to end, the clubs that were left out of the playoffs are already planning for the next tournament and the analysis of players has begun to determine which ones will stay and which areas of the field they need to strengthen; however, several players also have to rethink their professional future.
In ESPN Digital, we present to you the 10 players who need to change teams for the Clausura 2020, whether it's for a new challenge or because they fell short this semester and need to regain confidence.
Jesus Corona
The Cruz Azul goalkeeper has been with the team for 10 years and had specific errors in this tournament that cost the team points; therefore, despite being a key figure in the club and having a contract renewal on the table, he might find a solution in another club to regain his confidence.
Andres Ibarguen
The midfielder from America fell far from his best form and the lack of rhythm cost him valuable minutes in this tournament. He needs a team where he can go back to his origins in Mexico, where dribbling and good crosses were his specialty.
Cristian Calderon
The 'Chicote' had a dream semester, even making it to the National Team. Due to his great level, rumors place him at Chivas as the first reinforcement of the Ricardo Pelaez era with the red-and-white team. This would be his trial by fire and a chance to reaffirm his quality.
Oribe Peralta
The 'Cepillo' has had a couple of tournaments with a significant drop in form, so it's not far-fetched to think that retirement might be close due to his age. In that case, he could change course towards the northern part of the country to finish his career with the team where he was born.
Emmanuel Gigliotti
The 'Puma' arrived at Toluca as the top scorer of the Argentine Superliga, but in Mexico, he couldn't show his full potential. Therefore, the Argentine might have a better future in a team with less pressure.
Martin Barragan
The Pumas forward arrived this tournament and ended it with more disappointment than glory. The Mexican came from Necaxa, but could only play 191 minutes in four games and couldn't make a difference for the team.
Jonathan Urretaviscaya
After a brilliant spell at Pachuca, the Uruguayan arrived in Monterrey, but injuries prevented him from showing his potential. This tournament, he only played 79 minutes and it seems like his time with the team from Monterrey is over.
Enner Valencia
The Ecuadorian played 15 games and over 900 minutes with Tigres, but he's far from what he showed in previous tournaments; therefore, he might find an escape route in other teams.
Martin Cauteruccio
The Cruz Azul forward only played 72 minutes in three games and went scoreless. His low level kept him out of most of Pedro Caixinha's and Robert Dante Siboldi's calls. The Uruguayan could reinforce a team with less pressure.
Franco Jara
The top scorer for Pachuca has already shown what he's capable of, so he can try his luck with a team of greater significance; therefore, the Argentine would have an easy path into other clubs.
