South American Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup

The South American qualifiers will start in March 2020. The draw will take place at 10:00 Paraguayan time in the Auditorium Hall of Conmebol.

"The 10 national teams of the Member Associations of Conmebol will participate in the draw for the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup QATAR 2022, which will be held between November 21, 2022, and December 18, of the same year," adds the statement from the organization.

In the past qualifiers, the South American representation in Russia 2018 was defended by Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Colombia with direct qualification, while Peru qualified after 36 years by eliminating Australia in the play-off.
