MEXICO -- Zacatepec's Cañeros took advantage of their home field by winning by the minimum difference in the first leg of the Quarterfinals of the Liga Ascenso BBVA MX against the Leones Negros at the Agustín "Coruco" Diaz stadium.
The hosts took the lead in the first few minutes thanks to a penalty the referee sanctioned against the 'melenudos'. Rodrigo Prieto converted the penalty for the home team.
Leones Negros had at least three clear chances to equalize the result, but it was in the last play of the match where the referee disallowed a valid goal by midfielder Daniel Amador, in stoppage time, at minute 94.

The return matches will be played between Saturday and Sunday to determine three of the four semifinalists, as Alebrijes de Oaxaca is already in that phase after finishing as the top seed.
