Christian Cueva's Return to Peruvian Soccer?
Since Christian Cueva returned to Peru a few days ago, he has been seen participating in César Vallejo's practices in Trujillo. As a result, there has been talk about the possibility of the 27-year-old midfielder returning to the Liga 1 Movistar for the next season.
However, José Guillermo del Solar, the coach of the 'poet' team, denied that there is any likelihood. In an interview with Fox Sports Radio, 'Chemo' pointed out that 'Aladino' does not prioritize returning to Peruvian soccer, and his mind is surely set on playing in a more competitive league.
"To think that Christian Cueva will play in Peruvian soccer or in César Vallejo is far from reality. Probably, the last thing he is thinking about is returning to the Peruvian league. His mind is set on playing in a tournament that is more competitive than ours and one that is stronger economically. I'm certain that he will be in a very competitive tournament in January," said 'Chemo'.
Christian Cueva only played 16 games this season with Santos, the club he joined from Russian side Krasnodar. Considering that he still has a contract with the Brazilian team for a few more years, the Trujillo midfielder will have to make a decision regarding his future.
