Men and women with tremendous strength will compete in the Grand Prix of Weightlifting to be held in our capital from November 6th to 11th at the Dibos Coliseum in San Borja. This competition, which will have nearly 100 selected athletes divided into 10 categories, will take place for the first time in the American continent and has the support of the IPD.

It will serve as a qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and will distribute important monetary prizes: $5,000 for the gold medalist, $3,000 for the silver medalist, and $2,000 for the bronze medalist.

Colombians Jhonatan Rivas (96 kilos) and Leidy Solís (76 kilos) are at the top of their respective categories. Jhonatan won gold at the recent Pan American Games Lima 2019 and Leidy is the current world champion in Pattaya, Thailand.
