Players of General Diaz threatened not to play against National
Until Friday noon, the players of General Diaz threatened not to play the game against National due to the debts that the club has with the team.
One group of players has a 6-month salary debt, while another group has a 4-month delay.
After a meeting with the board and the payment of a salary, plus the promise to pay another salary next week, the players lifted the strike.
"We paid one salary and promised them that we would pay another one during the week, thanks to the money we will receive at the beginning of this week," explained General Diaz's president, Jorge Gonzalez.
"This is the second time we have gone through something similar, except that this time it came to light instead of being resolved behind closed doors. The club is without resources, but we are doing everything possible to generate money and catch up as quickly as possible," he concluded.
