Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero struggles to find the back of the net
Strikers thrive on goal-scoring, but when the goals dry up, the criticism starts pouring in. That's exactly what's happening to Paolo Guerrero in Brazilian football. Last night, he completed his sixth game without finding the back of the net playing for Inter de Porto Alegre, and some media outlets have begun to question the Peruvian's negative streak.
"Sarrafiore has a higher goal average than Guerrero at Inter. He only needed one minute," states the Gauchazh portal, highlighting that Argentine midfielder Martín Sarrafiore only took 60 seconds to score, while Guerrero hasn't scored in 540 minutes.
"Guerrero is going through his longest goal drought since joining Inter. After the match against Avai, he admitted feeling some 'anxiety' due to the recent lack of goals," emphasizes Globoesporte on their website.
