Donny van de Beek: A Rising Star in International Football

Donny van de Beek has become one of the standout names to watch in the international football scene. A key player in last season's successful campaign for Ajax Amsterdam, alongside Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt (who moved to FC Barcelona and Juventus Turin, respectively).

However, unlike his former teammates, the 22-year-old midfielder did not change clubs. One of the destinations that emerged as the most likely was Real Madrid. In fact, the player himself confirmed the contacts and many believed his signing was a done deal. Nevertheless, the possibility did not materialize in the end.

Despite this, Real Madrid remains a viable option for the upcoming season, although the exact terms of the operation are still unclear. There have also been other clubs interested in the talented Dutch international, such as Inter Milan.

With 3 goals and 6 assists in 12 matches, Corriere dello Sport reveals details about the conversations between Inter Milan and the player himself last season. According to this source, the Lombardy-based club was on the verge of reaching an agreement for the transfer of Donny van de Beek before his breakthrough at Ajax. The proposed deal was valued at around €25-30 million. However, the player's impressive performances continued, and this possibility eventually faded away.
