Piojo Herrera does not demonize Briseño; reveals communication between 'Pollo' and Gio.

MEXICO -- The coach of América, Miguel Herrera, informed that Antonio 'Pollo' Briseño has already had communication with Giovani dos Santos and considers that the foul he committed was not intentional, but reckless. "The thing is that Briseño is a guy with a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of determination, who takes risks in every play; it's the passion with which he lives football; that's why I say it was not intentional, but reckless."

He points out that if the Chivas defender were a different way "we would demonize him, but he has that impetus in every play and sometimes he takes that excessive impetus. Yesterday I didn't want to talk about the play, because I hadn't seen it; but I've seen it several times now and I think it was reckless, with excessive force."

And the coach ruled out that Briseño went after the player with the intention of injuring him; however, he doesn't know if the America management will request the defender's disqualification, because he is part of the coaching staff and it's not his decision to make.

The strategist added that when you see someone with malicious intent, apologies don't come in handy and in this case "Gio told me that Briseño sent him a message; they have already exchanged phrases and comments and that's the most important thing."

Then he opened the doors to Chivas to visit Dos Santos, "well, yesterday they wanted to come, but it wasn't appropriate, since he had to go into surgery and he came out of the operating room almost at 3 in the morning."

IT'S STUPID TO SAY THAT OCHOA SPIT

Gio received general anesthesia and between 25 and 30 stitches, Herrera detailed, who commented that "it's stupid, nonsense" to say that goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa spat on Briseño.

He recalled that something similar happened to him when he was expelled by Roberto García Orozco. "He also had saliva come out and it fell on my face; he apologized and I told him it's okay, it happens because we're close. There was no malice from Memo at any moment. There are people who talk nonsense."

'Piojo' describes the incident between Ochoa and Briseño as "juicy talks"

The coach of America assured that his goalkeeper had no intention of attacking anyone and that it was an accident due to their proximity.

He says that if the referee had classified it as a spit, he would have reported it in his report, and 'Pollo' would have reacted in some way.

"It seems to me that, as we say, they are 'juicy talks'", he joked. He believes that the goalkeeper is incapable of 'low actions', as he considers him a person of integrity who only approached to claim with impetus.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS HIS RECOVERY

Miguel Herrera visited Giovani on Sunday, after undergoing surgery in the early morning for a deep cut on his right thigh, caused by Briseño. The play took place during the America-Chivas classic on Saturday night at the Estadio Azteca; the match corresponded to Matchday 12 of the Apertura 2019.

"I see him animated, happy, very positive. The recovery time (around six weeks) is not important. The important thing is for him to recover."
