Guayaquil -
The night of last Wednesday, Leonardo Ramos, Barcelona's coach, mentioned that his club will not lend their players to the national team for the upcoming friendly matches on FIFA dates. However, Francisco Egas, president of the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation, expressed his rejection of this decision.
"The national team has absolute priority and it is in the FIFA regulations, which state that teams must lend their players to the national team," Egas stated to radio SuperK800.
The leader said that there will be "no contemplation" with the clubs regarding this matter.
"We cannot be changing things because a team is called up for a player. Whoever does not want to be in the national team is within their right not to go," expressed the head of the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation.
On October 13th, Ecuador will face Argentina in a friendly match for the FIFA date, which will be played in Spain. (D)
