The sports manager of Universitario, Jean Ferrari, spoke about the situation of Tiago Cantoro. The former player of 'U' spoke in an exclusive interview for Fútbol Como Cancha of RPP Noticias.
"We cannot put absolutely anything at risk. He is an extraordinary player. Beyond being an excellent footballer, he is like family to me and we will always take care of him. We want a long-term contract with him, but at this point, today, we have seen a gap in Tiago's participation. He is a foreign boy who does not have a contract and who would be working within the country. His documentation is not in order for him to participate," affirmed Ferrari about Cantoro.
Furthermore, the sports manager of 'U' assured that they will seek a way to formalize the forward. "We are going to formalize the request to the Federation to see if really, under the arguments and foundations that the FPF can provide us and assure us, with that response, we can take action so that Tiago can participate. At the moment, we cannot do it because we have those questions," he added.
Ferrari also said that Universitario will not risk any achievement or victory for the team by including Cantoro in the first team. "That is why we have believed it is appropriate that for now, and knowing the situation, whether we become champions or finish second, or if they give us points for the first team, we will not put that at risk," he concluded.
