'Habemus juez'

The National Referee Commission (CONAR) appointed FIFA referee, Joel Alarcón, as the one in charge of officiating this Sunday's match against Alianza Lima in Ate.

"You are always identified with a team. The last time I refereed at Matute, they identified me with 'U'. Before any fandom, there is our family, that's why we have to always do an honest job", commented the referee to RPP Deportes.

"Both in Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes, the players have been good when I have refereed them. Especially Rinaldo Cruzado and Alejandro Hohberg, because of the quality of athletes they are", added.

In Ate, there was some unease when the appointment of Alarcón became known due to his background.

Universitario will be attentive to the referees' performance, as their actions have been under scrutiny for several matches.
