The Best FIFA Goalkeeper Award Goes to Alisson Becker
Liverpool's Brazilian player Alisson Becker was awarded The Best FIFA Goalkeeper of 2019 on Monday in Milan. This award was given for the first time in a ceremony held at La Scala in Milan.
Becker, who won the Champions League with Liverpool and the Copa America with Brazil, was chosen over his compatriot Ederson Moraes (Manchester City) and the German goalkeeper Marc André Ter Stegen from Barcelona.
Previously, his coach at Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp, had been chosen as the best male coach of 2019.
Becker received the award from his fellow countrywoman Marta, the legendary Brazilian player who has been named the best female footballer of the year six times. (D)
