MEXICO -- The return of Guillermo Ochoa to Mexican football after eight years in Europe excited the América fans to fill the void left by Agustín Marchesín, but the goalkeeper has had more regrets than celebrations, as in four matches with the Eagles in the Opening 2019 season, he is still without a win and has a balance of three draws and one defeat by a landslide.
An error of his was key for Pumas to achieve the draw at the Azteca Stadium and with Bryan Mendoza's goal, he has now conceded six goals in four matches (Tigres, Pachuca, Atlas, and Pumas), in which América has accumulated three points to reach 16 units, enough to remain at the top of the general table despite the lack of victories.
Before his move to Porto, Marchesín played the first two matches of the tournament with the Eagles (Monterrey and León), with a balance of one win, one draw, and two goals conceded.
After those matches, Óscar Jiménez had the opportunity as a starter while the arrival of a reinforcement was resolved, and in three Liga MX matches, he achieved three victories (Tijuana, Toluca, and Morelia) with only one goal conceded.
The Eagles are currently in fourth place overall after nine matchdays and will face Querétaro, Juárez, and Chivas in the upcoming matchdays -two of those matches will be at home- in search of the first victory with Guillermo Ochoa in goal.
