The former German Formula One driver Michael Schumacher was transferred to the Georges Pompidou Hospital in Paris on Monday to consult with a specialist in heart failures, six years after his serious skiing accident.
According to the French newspaper "Le Parisien", Schumacher, 50, arrived at the hospital around 15:40 local time (13:40 GMT) in an ambulance accompanied by the cardiologist Philippe Menasché.
The former driver will undergo a regenerative treatment with stem cells to obtain an anti-inflammatory effect throughout the body, which is expected to start on Tuesday, and the day after Schumacher could leave the hospital, according to "Le Parisien".
The newspaper adds that Schumacher has already visited the Georges Pompidou Hospital twice last spring, and both times he arrived by helicopter.
According to "Le Parisien", the treatment was expected to take place in July but a health problem delayed it until this week, after Professor Menasché's vacation. EFE
