UD Almería's record signing: English talent Appiah arrives from Nottingham Forest

UD Almería made a new signing official on Monday. It is the English player Arvin Appiah (18, photo), who comes from Nottingham Forest, and is considered one of the pearls of English football. The winger signs with the Spanish Second Division team for the next five seasons.

Several reports indicate that the operation has a cost of €9 million, which places Appiah as the second-most expensive signing in the history of the Second Division, surpassing former Barcelona player Alen Halilovic (€5 million).

Furthermore, the young winger becomes the most expensive signing in the history of the Spanish club, which until now had Pablo Piatti, with €7 million, as the record holder.

The new red-and-white player is of Ghanaian descent and holds English nationality. He is only 18 years old and, although he is a future bet, the player is already a reality due to his football potential. He has been an international player for the U16, U17, U18, and U19 teams of England, according to Ideal newspaper.

Arvin Appiah is the twelfth signing of the Spanish club following the arrival of the new owner Turki Al-Sheikh, after the already certified signing of Nigerian attacking midfielder Isah Aliyu, announced yesterday by the red-and-whites.
