Juan Carlos Osorio's team, former coach of Mexico and Paraguay, defeated Independiente Medellín 5-2 in their last match and climbed to second place in the table, while Millonarios defeated Deportivo Cali 2-1 and reached third place with the same points as their opponent (16).

However, Osorio has doubts for that match with three defenders: Daniel Muñoz, Alexis Henríquez, and Daniel Bocanegra, who left the Thursday game with discomfort when their team lost 0-1 to Tolima in the quarterfinals of the Copa Colombia.
