Angélica Espinoza will be the flag bearer of the Peruvian delegation at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games, revealed the Peruvian Institute of Sport (IDP) on Thursday during the presentation of the team of local representatives who will compete in the event.
The para taekwondo athlete, who was named the best new para athlete of 2017 and has won multiple competitions, will carry the flag of Peru at the opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the multi-sport event, which will take place on Saturday, August 23 at the National Stadium.

Her appointment was announced this afternoon in an emotional ceremony where the members of Team Peru who will participate in the Parapan American Games were introduced.
The event was attended by the president of the IDP, Sebastián Suito, Luisa Villar, president of the National Paralympic Association of Peru, Carlos Neuhaus, head of the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee, and Iván Dibós, member of the International Olympic Committee.
Espinoza, Parapan American champion and 2017 world champion in parataekwondo, is a medal contender in the K44 (-49 kg) category of the discipline in the Parapan American Games.
