They keep making history
Zulia, Venezuelan team that eliminated Sporting Cristal in the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana, defeated Colón de Santa Fe from Argentina 1-0 in the first leg of the quarterfinals.
Zulia took the lead in the first leg with Abel Casquete's goal two minutes before the end of the match. The Venezuelan team does not have enough financial resources. As you may remember, they conducted some training sessions in a park in Lima, hours before facing Sporting Cristal.
The second leg match will be on Thursday, August 15 at 19:30. Zulia only needs a draw by any scoreline to advance to the semifinals for the first time in their history in international competitions.
"We are very focused on making history. We have a goalkeeper who is the best in the Copa Sudamericana and an attack that is in good form. That makes the rest of the team perform much better," said defender Frank Feltscher.
