Peru defeats Canada in four sets

Peru defeated Canada, three sets to one. Our selection won the first set 25 to 17, the second set 25 to 21, lost to the Canadian team in the third set, and finally recovered in the fourth and final set.

Our Peruvian women's volleyball team began their journey at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, where our "matadoras" are seeking a medal that has eluded them since 1991, the last time they stood on the podium.

A long wait for a medal

Throughout their history, the Peruvian team has received five silver medals and three bronze medals, putting them in sixth place in the historical medal table of women's indoor volleyball. However, it has been 28 years since the last medal was obtained.

Seeking redemption

Our women's team recently finished seventh in the Pan American Cup, so the team led by Francisco Hervas will seek to change history.

Tough debut against Canada

Our debut opponent is Canada, who secured their spot at the Pan American Games by finishing third in the Pan American Cup held last July.
