Peruvian National Team: "Peru was a very nervous and insecure team", Erick Osores' criticism after the elimination of the U-23 team from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games [VIDEO]

The Peruvian Under-23 National Team has been eliminated from the medal race at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, and the criticism after the poor results was not long in coming. Erick Osores was one of those who analyzed the work done by Nolberto Solano and his team after the defeat against Jamaica.

"Peru has been a team that showed little harmony, a very nervous and anxious team with a lot of pressure. It's as if they have to carry the weight of the Copa America. I saw a team that was tied up, not letting loose, insecure. It's also obviously a lack of work," said Erick Osores on 'Fútbol en América'.

"This Peruvian Under-23 National Team had a pressure from the beginning that they didn't know how to handle, in my opinion. People went to see them because of the Copa America. That's how I see it," added the journalist from América TV.

Erick Osores also expressed concern about Nolberto Solano and the perception of the fans after the elimination from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

"The image that Nolberto Solano left at Universitario and before the Games already generated resistance. The next team that Solano coaches, people will already have the perception that he is a coach who is not good enough and I resist thinking that way," he said.

"These Pan American Games end up not showing us a coach or a player with potential. It's very deceptive, without saying that they haven't been good," he added.

Erick Osores, Richard De La Piedra, and Oscar del Portal, hosts of 'Fútbol en América', all agreed that one of the mistakes made in the preparation was for Nolberto Solano to go to the Copa America when the team needed more work.

"The planning failed. The coordination failed because they should have taken advantage of the time. They needed time to work and it didn't happen," said Erick Osores.
