Argentine defender Nicolás Freire will now be able to make his debut with the Pumas this weekend, once his international transfer arrived at Liga MX and he was able to be registered.
The center-back had to delay his presentation with the university team because the transfer request to Liga de Quito in Ecuador was not made on time, so he couldn't play in the game against Atlético San Luis, a game that the team won 2-0. His place was taken by young player Pablo Jáquez.
Freire joined the Pumas more than a month ago and participated in the preseason games. The Argentine arrived to cover the absence of Spanish player Alejandro Arribas, who still hasn't found a team for the next season.
The 25-year-old defender, who made his debut in Argentinos Juniors and had stints in the Netherlands, Brazil, and Ecuador, will play his first match against Necaxa at the Olympic Stadium in CU.
