After playing six seasons in professional football in Ecuador, between clubs in the First and Second Division, Joffre Escobar decided to emigrate in search of a sports improvement and settled in Universidad San Martín, which hopes to solve the lack of goals in the team.
Joffer Escobar arrives in Peru after finishing his contract with América de Quito, the bottom team in the country's Pro League. The 22-year-old striker is the team's top scorer with 2 goals out of the 10 that the team has been able to score in the first half of the year. However, not everything is bad in his career.
At the age of 20 (2017), Joffre Escobar had a spectacular season with Gualaceo in the Second Division of his country, scoring 21 goals out of the team's 58 goals in the entire season and finishing as the second-highest scorer of the year with an average of 0.64 goals per game.
Despite his 180 centimeters in height, Joffre Escobar has good leg work, dribbling skills, as well as strength and aerial play, characteristics that convinced the San Martín coaching staff to bring him and replicate what he did two seasons ago.
