First penalties! The Peruvian National Team achieved a historic qualification to the semifinals, after winning on penalties against their counterparts from Uruguay. This situation kept the whole country on edge, including fellow countrymen who were on a plane.

And it's because, through social media, a group of passengers on a plane posted a photo celebrating Peru's qualification to the semifinals of the Copa America. However, the story behind this image is much more curious than it seems.

It turns out that the flight in the photo was delayed until the result of the penalty shootout between Peru and Uruguay was known. Although it's not known if it was at the request of the passengers themselves or the pilots, what is certain is that everyone in the cockpit celebrated the five goals of the Peruvian National Team.

Ricardo Gareca chose to start the match with André Carrillo and Edison Flores. The former was absent in the last matches of the national team, while the latter had a few minutes during the group stage.

The Peruvian National Team secured their spot in the semifinals, just like in the previous edition of the Copa America. Uruguay stepped onto the field with their top stars, so Zambrano, recovered from his injury, and Abram will be in charge of marking them. Peru will face Chile this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Arena do Gremio.
