Backing him up
Paolo Guerrero is gradually returning to Flamengo and for now he has a great ally in the team. It is the team's own manager, Maurício Barbieri, who defended the Peruvian striker against the lack of goals in the last two matches.
"Paolo Guerrero helps us. Sometimes he is only judged by the goals, but he fulfills a very important tactical role. He drags the defenders, prepares plays. He had a good match against Botafogo, he supported us a lot. I had to take him out because I saw that he was struggling with the sequence of matches, since he was not playing regularly," said Barbieri.
In the meantime, the Rio de Janeiro club has not yet mentioned a possible renewal for the 'Depredador' and it is known that his contract with the club ends in August. In Brazil, there is already talk that Eduardo Vargas would be Guerrero's replacement if he decides not to renew.
