When Edison Flores committed a foul, Doña Alicia knew how to punish him. She didn't pull his ears, but she forbade him from playing soccer with his neighborhood friends. What worse sentence for someone who loves soccer?
"In my house, I have two doors. And I remember that I was wearing sandals. My friends were going to play soccer. I was grounded. I could leave the house, but I couldn't play with them. I couldn't put on sneakers," said Edison Flores in Movistar Deportes.
"To get around it, I would throw my sneakers onto the street. She still found out [laughs]," added the player from the Peruvian National Team, who is enjoying his vacation in Lima.
On the other hand, Edison Flores admitted that he still has many aspects to improve as a soccer player. One of them is confronting opponents, something that - he said - he has stopped doing.
"I stopped doing one-on-ones. I don't see it as very productive, when I can give a pass and move on," concluded Edison Flores.
