Peruvian volleyball: the junior national team qualified for the World Championship after defeating Brazil in the South American Championship.

The Peruvian volleyball team, led by Natalia Málaga, qualified for the final of the South American Championship and secured a spot in the 2019 Mexico World Cup. They defeated Brazil 25-9, 25-15, 25-11.

The Peruvian Volleyball Team

The Peruvian volleyball team has also made it to the World Championship. This Wednesday, the juniors qualified by defeating Brazil 25-9, 25-15, 25-11 in the semifinals of the South American Championship. This guarantees them a spot in the 2019 tournament.

Peru was in Group B along with Argentina, Bolivia, and Uruguay. They made it to the semifinals in second place - only losing to Argentina - and it was in this stage where they faced Brazil, the best team in Group A.

A Shot at Gold

The team led by Natalia Málaga shined during their time in Valledupar, Colombia, where the tournament took place. They will now aim to win their fourth gold medal.

There are three spots that the South American Championship awards to the World Championship, which will be held next year. Peru will be the first Latin American country to participate in the tournament.

The Peruvian volleyball team prepared for the South American Championship with a training tour in South Korea and Japan in May. After that, they traveled to Florida, United States, to participate in the 45th edition of the AAU Girls National Volleyball Championships.
