An investigation by the FBI revealed that Apple has approximately 5,000 employees working on a project related to autonomous vehicles.
This information was revealed during an investigation into the complaint against a former Apple employee, Xiaolang Zhang, who is accused of stealing trade secrets and intellectual property from Apple.
According to EFE, Apple has about 135,000 full-time employees, and 3.7% of Apple employees would have access to that project.
The FBI investigation specifies that around 2,700 of those 5,000 workers have an additional permission to access the project databases.
The information revealed by the FBI is interesting considering that Apple has not provided many details about their work with autonomous vehicles, even though they have more than 5,000 employees on the project.
