About the Futbolístico del Niño Temple

This is a maxim that will be incessantly perpetuated and in what scenario, in the Futbolístico del Niño Temple. Where is it located? In the beautiful City of Sports, a blessed place with its 17 hectares, its 15 fields, and an enviable nature.

Such phrase is described on a mural of 6.20 by 2.10 meters that was unveiled a few days ago, with images of the glories of our soccer; that painting, the work of creativity by the artist Pablo Agraces, can be admired in the executive room of the City of Sports, every day.

Those who received that gratitude and honorable tribute, being them and forever considered idols and admired by the entire Ecuadorian fans, are: Vicente Lecaro, Luciano Macías, Wacho Muñoz, Moacyr Pinto, Jorge Bolaños, Manolo Ordeñana, and Alberto Spencer.

Alongside these glories, the image of Carlos Pérez Perasso is distinguished, a visionary character in journalism and an unconditional creator of programs for the benefit of the country's children and youth, and as an example, he envisioned the Diario EL UNIVERSO Interbarrial de Fútbol in 1982.

The unveiling event was simple and glorious. Family members of the honorees, newspaper superiors, journalists, and football executives attended and cheered the dignified gesture of the City of Sports for those who sweetened themselves with the ball on a soccer field as true stars in front of their fans.

May this memorable example serve other sports organizations to very deservedly highlight so many other figures/stars of our soccer.

The greatness of an institution is to know how to recognize the merits of those who stand out in their roles. Today, the City of Sports makes that universal axiom shine... (O)
