"It's the first time I've been in a group with so many kids and it's a strange situation. I was even anxious, I seemed like a child. They welcomed me but no one dared to bully or hit me. It's not fear, it's respect and that's normal. Within the group, I try to be a good leader," he said on Gol Peru.

"I come to San Martín to enjoy with all the kids. I'm in a place where things are done well and I'm at an age where I can enjoy football," added the goalkeeper.

Erick Delgado said he is physically well and in two weeks he should be ready for his debut. The goalkeeper will be able to play starting August 1, when the transfer window opens.

"I was training even harder than with Municipal, unfortunately we trained on artificial turf and for me, it's a relief to come here and see this field. When they contacted me, I was out of the country but we quickly reached an agreement and I took a plane immediately to come and train," he said.
