Although we are in World Cup season, big clubs like FC Barcelona continue to work on the summer transfer market. In fact, Camp Nou is already focused on strengthening the midfield after the departure of Andrés Iniesta and the imminent return of Paulinho to Chinese football.
According to the newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', FC Barcelona is considering three names to replenish the midfield. In addition to the already secured signing of Arthur Melo, Barcelona has Willian (Chelsea), Adrien Rabiot (PSG), and Frenkie de Jong (Ajax) on their radar.
Willian is rumored to be joining Barcelona.
Regarding the Brazilian, Barcelona sees him as an interesting option in attack due to his characteristics as a winger. However, according to the needs of the team, Rabiot and De Jong are more suitable for the Barcelona style, although this does not mean that Barcelona will not pursue the signing of the Chelsea player.
According to the same source, the arrival of Rabiot to the midfield does not seem to be as complicated. In fact, it is easier than the signings of Willian and De Jong, as Rabiot only has one more year left on his contract with PSG, and selling him would help them with the financial 'fair play' issue.
"By age, Willian, who turns 30 in August, has the doors of Barça open now, but perhaps not next season. Instead, Rabiot, who is 23, would still be an option if he arrived for free next season, instead of paying a considerable amount due to his contractual situation," Mundo Deportivo states about FC Barcelona's plans for the current transfer market.
