Samsung would be in trouble. The South Korean firm would register a drop in its profits in more than a year in the second quarter, due to the lackluster sales of its high-end Samsung Galaxy phones.
It is estimated that the sales of Samsung smartphones will fall in the quarter between April and June, after a decline of more than 2 percent in the previous quarter due to consumers preferring cheaper models.
According to Reuters, Samsung is under pressure after the launch of Apple's iPhone X. This device has made it evident that Samsung is short on technological innovation in the market.
"The features that Samsung mobile phones have are not attractive enough for customers to spend more money," said Song Myung-sup, analyst at HI Investment and Securities, to Reuters.
Let's remember that the Samsung Galaxy S9 brought few technological attractions, even selling less in its launch year compared to what its predecessor Galaxy S8 sold in 2017.
