As the owner of the United States Championship of WWE, the eccentric Jeff Hardy was forced to put it on the line this Tuesday at SmackDown Live, just one day before his country's Independence Day. And it was The Miz who accepted this open challenge.
Although Jeff Hardy had the support of the majority of WWE fans present at the Century Link Center in Omaha, Miz took the initiative by punishing him with knee strikes against the turnbuckle.
Things didn't improve for Jeff Hardy when the action moved outside the ring, as after a miscalculation in a flying body splash, the 'Enigmatic' one would end up crashing into the barricade.
When both wrestlers were able to get back up, there was a brutal exchange of elbows in the middle of the ring. And although Miz was close to getting the victory in the count, Jeff Hardy would react in time.
However, Jeff Hardy took advantage of Miz's argument with the referee to connect a Twist of Fate, followed by a Swanton Bomb with which he would end up getting the win.
