The 2018 Russia World Cup will be unforgettable for the Germans
and not precisely because they have touched glory again as in Brazil 2014. On the contrary: for the first time in their history, they were eliminated in the group stage of a World Cup.
Therefore, despite having a valid contract until 2022, rumors were heard that the German Football Federation (DFB) was going to dismiss coach Joachim Löw or that he himself was going to resign. Neither one nor the other, because this morning the highest German football authorities announced that the mentioned coach will continue to lead 'Die Mannschaft'.
"Joachim Löw continues his work as head coach and wants to shape the team's reconstruction with a view to future tasks," reads the official German national team's Twitter account.
"In the coming weeks, the coaching staff will carry out an in-depth analysis and present the lessons learned and the consequences that the participation in the World Cup left behind," said Reinhard Grindel, president of the German Football Federation.
Löw convinced of achieving a "reconstruction"
Joachim Löw expressed that he is "very grateful for the confidence that the DFB continues to place in me, and I feel overall, despite the legitimate criticisms for what happened in the World Cup, a lot of support and encouragement."
And he added: "My disappointment is still huge. But now I want to design the reconstruction with full commitment. I will analyze together with my team, have conversations, and draw the right conclusions for the start of the new season. Everything takes time, but everything will happen in time for the start of the new international season in September," he assured.
