Croatia and Denmark play for the pass to the quarterfinals of the 2018 Russia World Cup . In a very tough and little-played match, Luka Modric had the winning goal in his feet through a penalty but missed it.
In the final minutes of extra time (117'), Rebic received a beautiful pass that put him face to face with the goalkeeper Schmeichel, the attacker managed to get rid of him and when he was going to define, Jorgensen made him fall. Nestor Pitana did not hesitate to call a penalty.

Modric took the ball and decided to place it on the left post of the Danish goalkeeper; however, he guessed it and managed to keep the ball, extinguishing the hopes of the Croatian team that did not want to go to penalties.
The goals of both teams came very early: Mathias Jorgensen, in the second minute, advanced the Danish team after shooting a ball inside the small area after a throw-in by Jonas Knudsen. Soon after, in the fourth, Mario Mandzukic took advantage of a rebound to beat goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
