Javier Pastore's Move to PSG
Although many may not remember, in the summer of 2011, PSG signed Javier Pastore from Palermo just a few days before the transfer window closed. The young Argentine talent had dazzled in Serie A and was coveted by teams like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
PSG paid a whopping €42 million, a shocking amount at that time, which changed the landscape of French football. However, it took the team two more years to win their first Ligue 1 title, and since then, they have been continuously successful, except for last year when Monaco claimed the league.
Pastore has spent seven seasons in France, witnessing the transformation of the team with the arrival of high-profile signings, some of whom are no longer with the club, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lucas Moura. Most importantly, PSG has gained global recognition like never before.
Now, Pastore seeks playing time at Roma, a team aiming to take a step forward in their history and trajectory, although without the same financial resources as PSG. As Pastore has admitted, he is looking for more minutes to feel like a footballer again.
