The goalkeeper and captain of the Chilean national football team, Claudio Bravo, showed solidarity today with his Argentine colleague Willy Caballero, who was at the center of controversy for an error committed during Argentina's 0-3 defeat against Croatia in the second round of the World Cup in Russia.
"What others say, Willy Caballero, does not exist. Only what your mind and your family say matters. Big hug colleague, the greatest success always. Hugs to your family," Bravo posted on Instagram.
The Chilean goalkeeper, who played with Chile in the 2010 South Africa and 2014 Brazil World Cups and was also champion of the 2015 Copa America and the 2016 Centenary Cup, has also been teammates with Caballero in the English team Manchester City, beyond sharing the suffering under the goal.
Caballero and Bravo played together at City.
Caballero, who plays for Chelsea, started the World Cup as Argentina's starting goalkeeper, and as such appeared on the pitch during the first two matches, but his performances relegated him to the bench in the third group stage match in favor of goalkeeper Franco Armani, from Argentine River Plate.
Caballero responded to Bravo through the same social network, where he wrote "Thanks colleague and friend. All the best to you and your beautiful family."
Argentina finally qualified for the round of 16 as second in Group D after a 1-2 victory over Nigeria in the third and final match, and now France, the team that awaits Argentina this Saturday at 14:00 GMT, is the one that will decide their passage to the quarterfinals at the Kazan city stadium.
