Football is full of surprises, but what the former coach of the Serbian national team (2012), Sinisa Mihajlovic, never imagined was being fired from Sporting de Lisboa just nine days after taking on the role.
The decision was made by the new club president, José Sousa Cintra, who disagreed with the coach's work plan that included changing the training venue, resulting in an extra expense of 300,000 euros.
"Sporting has decided to end Mihajlovic's trial period and cancel his contract. We will quickly look for a new coach, who should be presented on Monday," Cintra said at a press conference.
Mihajlovic has had an impeccable career as a coach and has led the national team of Serbia and Italian teams such as Milan, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, and Catania. In January of this year, he was dismissed by Torino.
