The Kyrgyz-Peruvian invasion has just begun in UFC. On Tuesday, Antonina Shevchenko achieved the coveted contract on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series and will be the new flyweight fighter, alongside her sister Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko won this prize after knocking out Jaimee Nievera in the second round, at 3m22s. Despite struggling with her opponent's jiu-jitsu, she managed to secure her sixth victory in her MMA career.
Thus, the Shevchenko sisters become the first siblings to make it to the UFC. The older of the two will make her debut this year. Like Valentina, Antonina Shevchenko has extensive experience in kickboxing and muay thai, disciplines in which she has been a champion in Lion Fight and Phoenix Fighting Championships, as well as in the world. Te'Jovan Edwards also won a contract to debut in the UFC by defeating Austin Tweedy in 26 seconds.
