After beating Tunisia 5-2 and securing their spot in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup, Belgium will play for the leadership of Group G against England. However, coach Roberto Martinez revealed that he will make changes to the starting lineup.
This comes after several Belgium players were injured in the last match against Tunisia. Therefore, stars like Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard will not be in the lineup against England in the fourth group stage match of the 2018 World Cup.
Although the injuries are not serious, the Belgium coach will rely on other members of the 23-man squad. He also insisted that he is not considering whether it would be better to finish second or first in the group, which carries the risk of facing Brazil or Germany in the quarter-finals.
"Football has a strange ability to punish you when you don't treat things professionally," he declared. In this way, the changes that Martinez will make will be Lukaku for Michi Batshuayi, Eden Hazard for his brother Thorgan, and Mertens for Tielemans.
