During the broadcast of the tie between Argentina and Iceland at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow, a very funny situation occurred. There, during the pre-match analysis conducted by the Public TV, Oscar Ruggeri, 1986 World Cup champion, and journalist Marcelo Benedetto were discussing the possibilities of the Argentine team when Argentine fans began to cheer for Ruggeri. But then the "script" changed and the ex-defender's hilarious reaction took place.
"Ruggeri, Ruggeri," the fans cheered while the ex-center back waved a shirt. "They made me sweat a little," he admitted, referring to the tribute, which quickly changed.
The fans started chanting another song. "Bring the girl, damn it!" they shouted. When Ruggeri decoded the lyrics, his expression quickly changed and he let out an expletive. "No, the fuck," he said.
The "girl" is none other than Candela Ruggeri, daughter of the former football player, model, and TV host. "But you're old," he responded to one of the "ringleaders" of the group of fans, to the laughter of Benedetto.
The video quickly went viral on social media. And Ruggeri confirmed that, even though he doesn't play, with his stories and anecdotes, he is one of the characters of the World Cup in Russia.
