The Ipswich English side was surprised by the gesture of his teammates as he became a father on Tuesday, while the 'red dynamite' was already in Russia preparing for their debut in the World Cup.
The birth happened earlier than expected, as his partner was not due for another two weeks. Knudsen's case is not the first of a Danish international becoming a father since the team started their preparation for the World Cup two weeks ago.
During the previous camp in Denmark, the team's main star, Christian Eriksen, had been given several days off to be with his girlfriend and newborn son. Eriksen missed the friendly match against Sweden in Stockholm but returned in time to play, and score, in the last test against Mexico on the 9th.
