The curse of the Egypt national team coach.

Argentinian coach Héctor Cúper, managed to qualify the Egyptian national team to a World Cup after 28 years, however, in his career as a coach, he holds one of the worst streaks in the history of world football.

Héctor Cúper has lost six finals in single-game matches. In his time at Lanús (Copa Conmebol 1996), Mallorca (Supercopa de España 1998) and Valencia (Supercopa de 1999), he won finals with all three teams, but the detail is that they were two-legged matches.

When the final was a single match, Héctor Cúper lost the Copa del Rey with Mallorca (1998), then the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup with Mallorca (1998/1999), two consecutive UEFA Champions League finals with Valencia (1999/2000 and 2000/2001), and the Greek Cup final coaching Aris Thessaloniki (2009).

With the intention of leaving behind his bad luck with clubs, he took charge of the Egyptian national team. The curse would still follow him and in the final against Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations, Héctor Cúper once again finished in second place, after losing 1-2 to Cameroon.
