The Islamic State threatens again. Now the greatest sporting event: the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. Jihadists announce that they will bomb stadiums of several host cities.
In a video broadcast by foreign press, the terrorist group shows a drone flying over and dropping bombs on the Sochi stadium, where the Portugal and Spain national teams played on Friday.
In the animation, the jihadists say they will attack the different venues where the World Cup matches will take place, as an act of revenge against Russian President Vladimir Putin for his participation in the war in Syria.
This is not the first time that the Islamic State has threatened the World Cup. In October of last year, they spread images showing the stars of football Neymar from the Brazilian national team and Lionel Messi from Argentina being executed.
Russia's participation in the Syrian civil war began in 2015, when the Government of Bashar Al Assad requested military intervention from the Government of Vladimir Putin to confront terrorist groups. Since then, Kremlin forces have focused on conducting airstrikes against Islamic State bases in various Syrian cities.
