Trail running in Peru is a sport that offers us a diversity of scenarios and landscapes that are difficult to surpass in beauty and demand. For this reason, the first edition of "Isla San Lorenzo Trail Running 12k" will take place on Sunday 24.
"With this race, we want to offer competitors new scenarios for trail running practice that are as similar as possible to other countries. In addition to creating more sports spaces," says Moisés Campos, representative of the organization.
At the South American level, San Lorenzo Island is the second island to have a trail running competition
Pick up and route Competitors will be embarked from La Punta, Callao from 6:00 a.m. and will travel 5 kilometers by Peruvian sea to reach the island.
For this first occasion, a 12k route has been planned (11 kilometers and 850 meters with elevation gain and loss). Likewise, the only starting and finishing point will be at the Explanada Principal FOES Marina de Guerra del Perú.

San Lorenzo Island presents a mixed terrain, ideal for this type of competition. It also has:
-10-meter sand wall
-Training base of the Peruvian Navy
-Casino Beach
-40 degree inclines, etc.
The highest point of the race is 160 meters
Mandatory equipment
Each participant must carry the following items throughout the race:
►Hydration bag, water bottle, or hydration system that does not impact the ecology of the place. (No disposable objects)
►Visible placed bib throughout the race.
"We are thinking of a second edition and other distances (80k), but before that, we want this race to consolidate over time, in terms of the number of participants it has," said Campos.
